The adapter outer face allows you to mount 8x170 bolt pattern wheels that use 9/16"-18 conical lug nuts:

Ford Excursion Wheels: 2000 – 2002

Aftermarket 8x170 Wheels: Any 8x170 aftermarket wheels designed to accept 9/16"-18 lug nuts and clear the 126.15mm adapter center bore.
